The Engineering and Design Aspects of Computer Security for I&C Systems at NPPs meeting was hosted by the EDF offices in Gloucester, UK and sponsored by the IAEA together with EDF. Over 80 participants from 27 countries and representing 64 companies took part in the information sessions. The event served as an international forum for sharing best practices and strategies used in the engineering and design of computer security measures for I&C systems at NPPs, as well as for discussing the challenges and issues that need to be resolved in this area.
As part of the event, a select group of reviewers participated in a working session to further develop the document entitled Engineering and Design Aspects of Computer Security for I&C Systems at NPPs to be published by the IAEA.
The IAEA document aims to assist Member States in the application of computer security concepts and controls to provide protection of instrumentation and control systems at nuclear power plants from cyber-attacks. The publication is intended to be used by Member States to support the design, development, licensing, implementation, and operation of digital I&C systems.
