The IAEA Technical Meeting on Adoption of Systems Engineering Principles for Nuclear Power Plant Instrumentation and Control was held on March 23-26, 2021. The virtual event provided an international forum to discuss and promote the adoption of systems engineering principles and their different applications for the overall engineering life cycle of safety instrumentation and control systems; and to assist the IAEA in planning future activities on these topics. The event also provided an opportunity to review the draft IAEA Nuclear Energy Series report entitled Adoption of Systems Engineering Principles for Nuclear Power Plant Instrumentation and Control. The event had 88 participants from 25 countries.
The first day of the event included 12 presentations from invited speakers on various aspects of system engineering methods, techniques, and experiences. Mark Burzynski (invited speaker from SunPort) made a presentation on Model-Based Testing for FPGA-Based I&C Safety Systems.
