On October 8-11, 2012, Oszvald Glockler, CEO of SunPort and Sergio Russomanno, Regional VP for North and South America of SunPort participated in the 5th International Workshop on the Applications of FPGA in Nuclear Power Plants hosted by the China Nuclear Control System (CNCS) Engineering Co in Beijing, China. 80 participants from 11 countries attended the workshop whose agenda included 26 presentations and 4 break-out sessions titled Licensing and Standards; Research and Development Needs; Utilities Perspectives; Designers and Vendors, respectively. The meeting was jointly organized by SunPort SA and CNCS.

Oszvald acted as Scientific Secretary of the breakout sessions and Sergio delivered a presentation on Verification and Validation (V&V) of FPGA based I&C systems for nuclear applications and chaired a breakout session dealing with Utility Perspectives on the application of FPGAs. The proceedings of the above sessions are used as inputs to a technical document presently under preparation by the IAEA.
